Summary

This is a non-material amendment — a minor adjustment to plans already approved by the council. The proposal is to infill (close in) the opening of Arch 1, one of a row of eleven railway arches on Corporation Street in Manchester city centre. The arches sit very close to Ashton House, a Grade II listed building right next door at around 42 metres. King of Kings School is a couple of minutes' walk away, and Shudehill Interchange bus and coach station is about a 5–10 minute walk. Because the council has accepted this as a 'non-material' change, it is considered minor in planning terms. Even so, a Heritage Statement — normally expected when works are this close to a listed building — does not appear to have been submitted.
